After waiting for what seemed like an eternity for it to ship from the UK only to discover that it caused sharp vignetting even without UV filter when used with the Pentax smc FA 20-35 f4 lens (at 20). I reckoned it was because of the screw-on/ bayonet ring which was fairly bulky, and tall that the hood ended up sticking out quite a bit more (about 2-3 mm) than I anticipated, and that little bit was enough to create the massive vignetting, what a pity that I need to return it because it's a sturdy little lens hood.

Edit: After contacting the manufacturer/seller they issued a full refund, maybe I got a poor example.It worked okay for the handful of times I used it over the 7 months I had it.A combination of fragile rubber and a screw in ring with a sharp edge don't go well together or provide a long lasting product.My other quibble with it Is the the rubber, unless stored in absolute isolation in your camera bag it will deform and not make a perfect circle when extended. Some parts will inevitably bite into the field of view from the deformation. Especially noticeable when used on a spotting scope.I'll be buying a full metal one as a replacement .

I would suggest to other buyers.

This apears to be a good design and I would have given it a higher rating but for the tread it needs to be longer or the locking ring needs to be thiner, but with a little persiverance I got it to fit and it works fine clips on and off and reverses OK.

I only had the rubber lens hood a number of days when it separated from the fixing ring. I attempted to fix it with super glue with limited success.

Bought this as I needed a lens hood that could easily clip on and off as the screw on ones are very annoying and time consuming. Once I opened the packaging, I saw the screw mechanism and thought they had sent the wrong thing out however, to my disappointment, it doesn't clip directly to the end of the lens. The screw mechanism remains and the hood clips and unclips from that. Hence why I say it's a bit fiddly.There is a ring screw attached to the thread but I never bothered using that as it was rubbish and kept slipping. On the attachment(the bit that scores into the end of the lens), there are two red marks on opposite ends and if you line them up with the red mark on your lens, it fits perfectly and the hood is in the correct position. Once you have that attachment on, which is the fiddly bit, all is well. I would've preferred a lens hood that didn't require such a fitment but perhaps there isn't such a thing and for the price, this is fairy decent.

Very good quality and great price but cannot be used on a Nikkor DX 18-55mm (APS-C) lens as it vignettes at wide angle. Would be a great product otherwise.
