Dakine Helion Mountain Biking Knee Pad

Great pads! Five stars for protection. Comfortable to ride in with no slipping because of the adjustable top strap. They provide great side protection from bumping your inner knees on the frame. And I've gotten to test them in a direct impact and they protected my knees against a fall that would have surely done some damage otherwise. The pads are well made and the material is definitely stands up to abuse.I knocked one star off for the sizing. I measured my legs based on the guidelines on Dakine's website and originally purchased a Large. But they wouldn't even fit around my calf, so I had to return them for an XL. For reference my calves are 15" around and my thighs are 19". The calf area is snug, and the thigh has a little room in it. Very comfortable.

Looks like a great knee pad and I love Dakine products but I hate when companies can’t get the size chart right. According to my measurements I should fall exactly in the middle of the medium category. These things are TIGHT. I guess you could size up... But what’s the point in providing a size chart if it’s not right? So annoying

Knee pads for mountain biking. Works as desired. Crashed hard on unprotected knee. Ordered this up w/ Prime. Biking 2 days after original injury, went down again on the same protected knee and no pain. Perfect.

Based on the reviews, I went a size bigger, and they feel a bit loose. I would stick to what recommended by manufacturer

Size way up. I was an inch or so under the medium measurement so I sized up to a medium like other reviews said. When they came they were so small I couldn’t bend my leg. Pads seem to be well built though.

Great medium protection for trail riding. I did drop test to the concrete with them and they worked great. Also great to peddle with. Only complaint is that they get pretty hot pretty quick not super well vented. But they don't slip and I can peddle with them all day.

Great pad -- comfortable and provides good protection. Like other reviews mentioned though, size up. I should have been fine with a Medium, but it couldn't get past my calves. The Large is snug and comfortable, though.

I've taken some hit and these totally saved my knees. Fit snug dont fall down. The impact is well dispersed. They can get a little warm.

These fit smaller than previous kneepads of the same model. We had to send ours back. A medium is like a small. Try before you buy they’re not the same as other kneepads made by the same company.
