Convenient & lightweight!
We recently moved and needed to put our Senegal Parrot in a temporary cage for a couple days. This was a great solution! Big enough that I didn’t feel like I was torturing him by putting him in a tiny box LOL. He had great visibility and access to food & water, a litter pan, and I threw some toys in and he seemed happy enough for a couple days.My only suggestion would be to build in a water bowl or include a water dispenser. We had to buy one since he normally has a bowl rather than a hamster-style tube and the one we selected didn’t stay in place very well so we had to tape it on as a temporary solution. Not pretty but serviceable.

Pleasantly Surprised
For context, our little chicken is a parrotlet, the smallest of all parrots and only slightly bigger than a canary. If you have a small bird and are considering this carrier, read on.When buying anything online, sight unseen, there are concerns about materials and quality of course, but when buying for our precious smol monster (who is delicate and susceptible to dangers we humans are not), we wanted to be extra careful. That is why we were pleasantly surprised to unbox this A4pet Travel Carrier and find that it is well made, sturdy, easy to keep clean, and totally functional for even a tiny little dinosaur like ours (with some minor modifications!).We were concerned that the large metal grommets (which would likely be no issue for any bird larger than a cockatiel) presented a danger if our itty-bitty demon tried to stick his head through and get stuck or otherwise injured. Well, it turns out that the grommets are pretty much the exact perfect size to securely mount a JW Pet rope perch, and that’s what we did. There is PLENTY of ventilation through the other mesh panels, so blocking these ports is no issue. It also provided our miniature dragon with a place to sleep, preen, and file his nails.Originally we had one rope connected to both grommets, but then decided to add a second rope instead for more climbing and exploring over our 3-day move (FL to CT). So, what to do with the open ends? Well, a cardboard drink carrier from that famous Seattle coffee company fits just about perfectly in the bottom tray that comes with the carrier. The holes in the drink carrier allow you to secure the “free” end of the rope perches as well as provide something to shred and a place to put nutriberries or other healthy snacks. We cut out a section in the center of the cardboard to put a small food dish. Our beautiful baby pterodactyl was scared of the carrier at first (like most things), but grew accustomed to it over a couple of days and ultimately was very comfortable inside during our trip. The handy shoulder strap made it very easy for us to bring him in and out of hotels along the way and the carrier is very lightweight - much better than trying to lug a cage around. Note 1: like virtually anything made from plastic that you buy online, this has that “inflatable pool float” odor when it arrives. We didn’t want to subject our petite velociraptor to any fumes, so we set the carrier out in the sun on the patio for a couple of days and it knocked it down about 95%.Note 2: the carrier comes with a cover, but we didn’t use it. The material it is made of didn’t seem very breathable and the fit was too “snug” for us… your mileage may vary. We just draped a light towel over the top for bedtime.

The Perfect Parakeet Carrier!
I LOVE this carrier! It's cute, easy to set up, high quality, and super functional. I don't have to worry about my parakeet getting jostled by harsh corners and it's the perfect size for him. Small enough to be compact and easily fit in a car seat but large enough to be comfortable for him. This carrier could probably comfortably fit two parakeets or a cockatiel. When we are at the vet I hang a little toy from the hole at the top to keep him busy. Couldn't be happier.

It Worked
Carrier was (obviously) big enough for our single budgie. We did look at other reviews and put a JW rope in the two additional ventilation holes for safety. They would potentially be a hazard to a frantic budgie. There was enough ventilation without them. I really enjoyed the holder for food. I didn’t mind the perch; however, I prefer one that has a slightly smoother finish or is just a natural limb. It was easy to clean and carry. I’d approve for a budgie, conjure, parrotlet, or cockatiel.

STURDY! Very pleased
The media could not be loaded. This is a really good carrier and quite STURDY! My Parrotlet was not intimidated at all and immediately went inside and was not spooked. I bought this because we will be traveling on a flight in a few days. The only negative is, I feel it might be just a couple inches too tall for stowing comfortably under the plane seat and I might have to turn it on its side....to fit under the seat during takeoff and landings?? I still prefer it to all the other designs. I do wish it came with 2 feeding dishes, but I added a 2nd one myself that has good support from both inside and outside. I also hung a 14" rope perch from the top hole and attached the other end to the 2nd hole, where they have an opening for a water bottle to enter. (there is an outer elastic loop to hold "said" water bottle) Those holes are 1" diameter and my parrotlet is tiny, so this solved a safety issue as well as added comfort with a soft perch. I was able to STILL hang a toy from the top hole (see photo) as the rope perch end (JW brand) was able to hold a toy attachment. The plastic tray for this travel cage is solid and top quality. That was also a pleasant surprise! Everything about this was a good experience. Even the "new smell" was very minimum. But....most of all my BIRD was comfortable with this product and that is everything. I will use this a lot for car trip outings after our flight is over.

Great carrier for my conure!
My 11-week-old conure's first vet visit, and we needed a carrier. I researched online and found this one. It was extremely easy to assemble, and I added water, food cups, and a toy. The strap fits nicely over the headrest of a car and then with a seat belt. There was lots of room, good ventilation, and sight. I highly recommend it.

Not very durable
This is a great idea, but the carrier is not very durable. Size-wise it worked for my small-ish Green Cheek Conure. However, my bird tore out the mesh without even trying on our first outing. May work better for soft bill or smaller birds, but I'll have to look for something more durable.
