This is the first shea butter I've tried and I feel like I got lucky because I like it so much. A little goes a long way and lasts a long time. It stays solid longer than I would have thought; I have to rub my hands together a little to get it to where it spreads easily. It also mixes well with coconut oil if you want to add a bit of sunscreen. Even using it nearly every day, this little tub has lasted a month and it's not empty yet.The only downside I've found is the smell. I didn't like it at first. I thought maybe it had gone bad or something. But apparently that is just the way it is, since it hasn't changed in the least and it works just fine. Guess that's just the difference between over-processed body butters and things that aren't.

Perfect for use on my dry skin as well as ...
When this first arrived the jar of Shea Butter ointment was more like a liquid than solid. I am assuming that is because of the temperature during shipping. After being in the air conditioned house for a week, it is more solid. With either constitution, the shea butter is easy to apply and works will on my dry hands and feet. It also worked while on a sore that I had on my elbow. Besides using it on myself, I also put it on my German Short Haired Pointerβs pads; they are rough but do not have sores or cuts. The only problem with using it on my dog is that he likes to lick it off. So he must be distracted for a few minutes after applying the ointment to give it a chance to soften his feet. So now, he tries to lick the ointment off my hands and feet when I am applying the ointment. I did also apply this to some mosquito bites on my ankles β it did seem to stop the inch and promote healing. This is made in the USA and not tested on animals. I should also note that you should not let your dog lick off the ointment β so far it has not caused any GI upset with my dog and I do try to not let him lick it off β he can be very persistent.

The product is really grainy so much so that I couldn't rub it in, it would just fall off my skin. So I microwaved it and that seemed to help. It's a little hard to get out of the container now but the consistency is better. It does seem to work pretty well but the smell is awful. Smells like BBQ Potato chips. Luckily after some time the smell will go away but that first couple hours is no good. Smell alone will make me not buy this again.

Amazing Natural Product! Multiple Uses !
I purchased in July, and have been using ever since! Just ran out and purchased more!Originally looking for cocoa butter to lighten scars, as I prefer natural remedies. During reasearch I learned that the shea butter is superior and noncomedogenic (I have oily/acne prone skin). After 3 months of using this particular raw shea butter, I will always use this product! While it did fulfill its intended purpose of lightening scars, it also did so much more!My skin is prone to insect bites (always 5 or more at a time), the shea butter soothes itching like nothing else ! Bites are gone in 2/3 days! I also follow the instructions on the jar for using on the face for acne. I use it along with my benzoyl peroxide face wash, and WOW! Acne scars on my face have almost completely disappeared, and the skin on my face is so smooth. I'm constantly asked if I'm wearing makeup, which I do not. I also apply to lips at night. As a cook, the shea butter also reduces burn scars significantly when it's applied to the burn religiously during the immediate days after being burnt.

It's a great product if you're not allergic
I'm allergic to Shea Butter but I thought I would give this a chance after seeing a youtube review. In the back of my mind I was still in denial about my allergy. The main reason I bought it was for my feet. It's worked okay on my feet and hair but I'm keeping it from my body.I've finally come to terms with my allergy. It's a great product if you're not allergic.

Great quality Shea Butter for skin conditioning and softening
This is a great Shea Butter. A little goes a long way and I now am hooked on dipping a little, rubbing between palms (to emulsify) right before bed then rubbing over my hands and fingers with special attention to my cuticles. The Shea butter easily soaks in (as long as you don't overdo and use too much) and really conditions my skin and this is a wonderful quality product. While some reviews mentioned shea smell (yes there is a bit of fragrance naturally occurring in Shea) it is barely there. This butter dissolves easily between your palms and I found it grit free, different from many, many shea products I had used in the past. I even took a small container with me on my travels as I couldn't do without and since its solid at room temperature I didn't need to include this in my quart bag "liquid" allowance for carry on. I have used this on hands, feet and love this product.

UPDATED REVIEW PLEASE READ!!!!!
Changing my review after discovering ways to get rid of the beads/grit. If you scoop the butter out of the jar. Place it in a zip lock bag. Put that bag in a pan boil water in another pan transfer the water to the pan your butter is in. Once the butter is fully melted cut a corner off the bag and let the melted butter go back into the container it came in. Once you get all the melted butter into the container put it straight into the freezer. After about 4 hours you'll have grain free Shea butter.Very gritty couldn't use on face. Currently my skin is so raw. I bought this cream thinking an all natural 1 ingredient cream would be best for my skin. But I can't even smear this on my skin because it is like exfoliating. The cool down process must not be the greatest. Going to re melt this down and re freeze it to hopefully get rid of the grit.

Too crumbly, not creamy
The Shea butter is fine, although more gritty and crumbly than creamy and smooth. But after reading another review that the butter can be affected by outside temperatures due to shipping, I'm not as bothered by it. If I can figure out how to make it creamy, then I'll be 100% satisfied by this product.

This product is life
This product is life, my baby has got very dry skin, I mean really bad dry skin and the first time I used this product her skin just suddenly look so moisturise and glowing. It makes your skin very soft. It's very good on hair too. The smell is not bad but you can tell it is the real deal. I have never really tried Shea butter before but I'm very please I bought this one. I will get another one as soon as this runs out.
