Hello, you may use a wireless headset to monitor your sound. However, since wireless always introduces latency, you will hear later than you spead due to the delay. Hello, thank you for your question. Traditionally, the MV7 is mounted to a boom arm so that the mic can be positioned in front of a person sitting in a radio or podcast studio. Basically, a shock mount would only be needed, when there is the danger of rumbling noises, vibrations and such. Hi Sophie, it can minimize background noise by pointing the microphone towards your mouth and noise to be cancelled behind the microphone. Since MV7X uses a cardioid polar pattern, it will eliminate noise that is in front of you. So essentially it is a matter of positioning and room reflection. We suggest also treating the room with acoustic panels, if background noise is still bleeding into the microphone when gain setting is as low as possible but as high as necessary.
