Highly Recommend! Very few Buzz baits compare to Booyah!
Excellent lure. Use them all the time and catch many large fish on them. The extra interference blade makes good noise at fairly slow speeds. In my experience the buzz bait is often misunderstood so I am writing this review to help others learn how to use it.NOTE: This is a top water bait. If you want to fish something comparable below the surface, use a spinner bait.Where to fish:- Around and over structure.- Over or near weed beds.- Places in Central Texas: Lake Waco (in standing timber), Stillhouse Hollow Lake, Llano River, Colorado River, San Gabriel river. When to fish buzz baits:- Any time the water is smooth and the fish are active.- Spring to early summer.- Late summer to late fall.- During summer at night and - 15 minutes before dawn to 30 minutes after and same for sunset.- Whenever bait fish are active.- When water temperature is as close to 70 as possible (active bait fish is more important than temperature!).Colors and methods:- White, Yellow, Chartreuse during the day, Black at night or around sunset (think silhouette).- Cast and *steady* retrieve with lure just barely on surface making a blurping/squeaking noise.----Not so slow that you can't hear it or see a splash.----Not so fast that it sounds like a motorboat.----Make it "talk" to you.- Be prepared to cast 20-30 times between fish.- Sometimes it's every 3rd cast but those days are usually only once or twice a year (if you fish once a week.)- If you know the fish are biting and you've seen a fish jump, don't stop trying a particular structure till you've cast a good 20 times from different angles.- Use a kayak to sneak up on fish - this is like hunting! The fish can see and hear you way more than you think!- From a boat: cast the bait so it lands almost on shore (within 6 inches!) and then make every effort to instantly get the blades moving at the same pace for at least the first 20ft from shore. If you are in a kayak, keep it going all the way to the boat. Cast in areas where there is underwater structure or between weed beds. A log in the middle of the river or standing timber in a lake is *prime* territory.- From Shore: Cast out 30-40ft and bring your bait in guiding it through weeds, etc so that it takes a path that brings as close to shore as possible. Look for underwater brush or weeds to cast over.- Remember: the warmer or colder the water is from 70 degrees, the less likely the fish will bite so you *MUST* get the lure right in front of them.--- The buzz bait elicits a response when other baits do not. What to expect from fish:- It's rare to have a fish "slurp" a buzzbait.- Usually the reaction is violent and "setting the hook" isn't necessary.- Often have fish blow the bait out of the water literally and not get hooked.- Drawback is that there is only one hook so keep your line tight while fighting the fish!- Use trailing hooks to increase your odds of hooking a fish and keeping it hooked. My experience is that Boohyah buzz baits are some of the best. These with the extra interference blade make the noise nearly perfect. Have caught many large bass on this buzzbait. There are other brands like those from Strike King that are decent too. Most recently used is "Strike King Premier Plus Buzzbait - The Double Take" which has two blades (see my review on it). Other than this, I don't think anyone else has a buzzbait that makes more noise that this Booyah buzzbait. The Strike King miniature buzz baits are real nice for those times when the big baits are too big. Have caught way more bass on the small ones than the big ones.In retrospect, I recommend the 3/8's ounce vs. the 1/2 ounce. At 7-8 inches long, the 1/2 oz seems too big to me. Maybe I'll catch something on them but I haven't yet. Go with the 3/8's. Have caught several large bass on them this spring (4lb +).Tight lines,VanVortexUPDATE 8/11/15: I have used the 8in buzzbaits now all summer and I can't say they catch fish any different than the smaller ones! In fact, it's possible that I've caught bigger fish because of them though maybe not as many. But I've had a couple of those "Every 3rd cast" type days. (Look up hillcountryfishingrods at blogspot dot com to read about my adventures this summer so far.) I can't wait to use these on a bass lake known for large bass.

MUSKY MUSKY This is a great buzz bait, NO BASS BUT MUSKY LOVE IT !!! better wear ear plugs LOL
Finally I got what I paid for this thing is great and so loud and annoying sounds like a car without a muffler, lol. I read the comment about guy catching Musky on it and that’s what I fish for. We had a bad day but did get a follow on this bait and nothing on any other bait we threw, I love it wish they came bigger bigger for the big boys.UPDATE 8/17/18 ok fished for Musky from 9 am until noon only caught 1 about 30 minutes before I had to leave I put on the Booyah I had tried everything else so what did I have to loose right. In 30 min had one follow and put two in the boat.UPDATE 8/21/18 was it a fluke that I caught all those muskies last time I went fishing, I know you’re not going to believe this but I started at 6:30 in the morning and finished until 830 in the night, tried all my different lures and could not get even a follow. I tied on my old faithful Booyah and started casting in the 14 hour day on the chartreuse and a black Booyah buzz bait we put 9 Muskies in the boat. We had in all 22 mostly strikes Muskies take the lure, they don’t follow they slam it. Probably the greatest fishing day of my life the place we fish is full of bass not one strike and didn’t even see a bass all day. The lure held up unbelievable, I’m guessing I have 21 hours of throwing it and the rubber gets caught in the rotating buzzer but for four dollars plus who cares. Bend the metal buzz arm down a little toward the skirt in will make all the difference it the world. My boat looks and smells like the National Musky convention was held there, my hands are sore and my arms are aching and by the way does anyone know how to get Musky‘s off my hands LOLUPDATE 9/3/18Ok took a 80 year guy with me that had never Musky fished, I put a black Booyah Buzz on his within 15 minutes after we started he calmly said, there is a Musky following my bait, I said quick do a figure 8, well you know how that goes, fish gone. We fished from 6:30 am until noon and had 13 Musky’s strike the lure. We put 2 in the boat a 25” and a 33 all on the chartreuse and white 3/8 oz. it has changed my Musky fishing for sure, if I don’t get bit and catch a Musky ever time I go out, I fell like a failure. You have to love them, 35 hours and 1 buzz and it still works perfect and looks great. I attached a two way treble hook on the back, that really helps. If you have had similar results please send me an email and let me know lillypadd765@gmail.com or text 304-678-5081

These buzz baits are a standby. Use with a large 4” trailer in the rain for lots of hard hits.
Extra “clicker seems to matter

Even as a one eyed buzz bait, the fish still like to scream Boohyah
It works pretty well. I've found it works best to start reeling just before it hits the water. Once it sinks its a little hard to get back up on top.If you can time it right you can keep it buzzing once it hits the water.I've caught a few bass and one smaller northern pike with this thing. It's held up decently wellOne of the eyes has come off and is at the bottom of some lake, or maybe the fish ate it who knows.Outside of the missing eye, it still works great.I bought this one with the clacker and one with 2 spinning blade. I personally have had better luck with this one over the other.
