Great Product
We use our rice pot to cook many different meals. This size is great if you’re having friends or family over. My wife even makes gumbo in ours. Ease of use and price makes it a must have if you use your rice pot for more than just rice.

Great rice cooker
We bought for cooking enough rice when making boudin. All the rice was cooked with none still hard. Saved us time.

Excellent Mid Sized Rice Maker for Catering
Just love this Rice maker! Comes in a good sturdy reusable box and really makes 30 cups of rice without pushing the lid up. I also own this units little brother a 15 cup unit for small jobs. Both are excellent - foolproof machines. Wash everything with soap and water like it says in the manual as there is residual fluid on the aluminum from pressing! After washing the first time, I fill mine up with water to the 30 cup line marker and press the mode button (cook) and let it boil about 15 to 20 minutes, then unplug and remove the lid. This gets rid of that funky metal smell. It does take about 60 minutes to make the full 30 cups of rice into 60 cooked cups. I add my rice, water, salt and butter and let it sit about 30 minutes before starting it, then stir it up and let it cook, auto-magic-ly switches to warm when ready. Fork it up to fluff it up and its ready to rock! Never any burnt rice stuck to the bottom. When done add warm water and let it sit 15 minutes with the lid on, rinse it out and wipe it out with a cloth. No sticking! No waste! Then back in the box for next time! I have a large propane rice maker by a different manufacturer and some rice always goes to waste - burnt or uncooked.

Malfunctioning rice cooker, wasted a lot of rice
The media could not be loaded. We tried this rice cooker 3 times, and it has never yet worked as intended. We use it infrequently for our monthly social to cook large amounts of basmati rice, which is expensive. So we only discovered the issue after the return window. Our goal was to start cooking a couple hours before the start of the social and keep it warm. The manual says that white rice takes up to 50 minutes and brown rice takes up to 75 minutes, and so we thought that was more than enough time.1. The first time, it cooked for 3 hours before it switched to warm, which wasn't in time for the social, and we had to throw away the cooked rice since it completed late and we had to purchase rice from a restaurant instead.2. The second time, the green light seemed to refuse to turn on, but it seemed to be heating up as the water had tiny bubbles (as when dissolved air begins to come out). We just ended up with water-soaked rice.3. The third time, we used a spoon to press in the green button and it turned on, but it stayed cooking for 7.5 hours (we left it cooking to test) without switching to warm. The rice was partially boiled but it was hard-grained. It was still wet and uncooked. All in all, we've ended up with a lot of wasted rice. Attached is a video from our frustrated social coordinator. Note that while she's demonstrating that the cooking button is not working with no rice in there, in all cases above, we had lots of rice and the recommended amount of water in the cooker. We would really like to get a full refund or get it replaced with a functioning cooker.

Long Term, Small Restaurant review- warning enclosed
We operate a small food establishment in Jamaica and the staple here is rice and peas, the peas are pressured/cooked beforehand and then added to the rice...it has been our experience that it will not cook a FULL pot, some remains uncooked at the top, that said it may just be that the electricity supply cycles at 50hz instead of 60hz which is the US standard. When we cook 2/3 -3/4 it does a great job and has been very reliable thus far and it's used 6 days a weekEDIT: OK, we still use this cooker and our business has grown so now we use 3 of these at one time and I would say we have bought maybe 15+ of these over the last couple of years. To be fair we abuse these things in that as soon as one set of rice is finished we put on another set, they do not like this and will often on the 3rd or 4th "cook" switch off prematurely as they just cannot handle the pace, especially now as we have loads of extra cook pots so we will prep rice and do one after the other.Last thing and this is important:the handles are held on by little screws that inserted from the inside - they have no washer and are just screwed into the black rubber/plastic handle.I have taken to removing all the handles as over time the heat and handling makes the screw work loose and as happened to us already...... the screw will fall into the rice, i cannot begin to tell you what kinds of problems that could cause- we were lucky and a staff member caught it.I have taken a bunch of lids to a welder to add a handle to solve this- still love the product though and stand by the 4 star review
