Yep, it's a bell.
Sounds like a stereotypical bike bell to me.Seems a bit loud at first when I was just ringing it in my house, but when actually biking with distractions and background noise it's a good volume to catch peoples attention without deafening them.Screws on tight and build quality seems fine.

Great Quality At A Great Price.
I bought 2. Perfect sound. The bell is clear and sharp not muffled like my first ones (different brand) despite them being brand-new. The price is very reasonable, that's what made me go ahead and buy not one but two. So many color options. Comes in handy when in a big city. Simple installation. Fits on the handle bar of my mountain bike.

It gives you ability to control the intensity
Ha! This thing is just great!I have an e-bike with electric horn but that sucker is ridiculously loud and scares people. I needed something less threatening and this fit the bill perfectly.What I love about this little bell is the fact that you can control the length/intensity of the ringing. You can just tap the lever for a short ring or you can wind it for a longer ring- I didn’t even realize that until I rode with it. I actually have it installed on my handlebar extension so it’s for slow speed riding on a multi use trail with people walking etc. Fantastic product.

Works well
Very functional bike bell. I wish it were a bit louder but other than that, it works just fine and catches peoples' attention. It attaches firmly and I don't feel like it's at risk of falling off.

More polite and noticable
Distinctive sound like an old neighborhood ice cream truck. Pedestrians ahead immediately recognize this sound as a polite notice from a biker coming from behind. The single 'DING" sounds more aggressive. I've replaced the "Dingers" with these on all 5 of our bikes.

Inner gear came off in 2 weeks use
My daughter loved this bell. Easy to use and boy did she use it! So maybe two weeks after buying one of the inner gears came off. The bell didn't work as a result. I had to break the top colored metal part off to fix it... Only to find out that when the top came off to get to the inner parts, it was broken. I am currently trying to superglue it, but not confident it'll stay. You can't see if it's in the correct spot for the gears to line up. Disappointed, but it wasn't that expensive. *shrug*
