Winning combo...some limitations.
I was looking for a compact and sturdy table top tripod to use at home and during my trips into the city (Many locations don't allow use of a full sized tripod due to safety/tripping hazards). This one caught my attention. I ended up coupling with SunwayFoto's XB-28 lot profile ballhead and it has proved to be a winning combo. The legs are super sturdy, easily holding my 2.5 lb. set up. The design is great... I like how they used a screw design instead of the usual exterior locking levels/twists. You simply unscrew each leg, extend them and re-screw? them into their extended position. While this sounds like it would take a lot more time that leg locks, it wasn't too bad. Once you get acustomed to the mechanisms, you can extend pretty quickly. I also don't mind sacrificing a few seconds for the clean look. It folds up quite nicely to be used as a video/selfie handle. The only limitations are that there are heights are fixed, so there is position 1 and 2 and extensions 1 and 2, giving you 4 possible fixed heights. Also, the initial stance of the tripod seems a bit wide. I wish it were narrower. Then again, wide equals stability...Overall I am happy with this for my purposes. I would probably recommend this set up to about 5-6 lbs. or so, which should cover most camera/lens combos. The XB-28 ballhead is great. Very sturdy and capable of holding a lot of weight. The pan knob is very stiff, but loosens up a bit after some play. The ballhead is good...not great...Now if you are using a higher end ballhead like an RRS or Markins, don't expect the functionality to compare to this....because it won't. But for the price range, this combo is great for most people's needs.I do like that the head fits flush onto the legs to the overall appearance is very clean and minimalistic.
